Peabody pares down Australian coal holdings
St. Louis, Missouri-based Peabody Energy is selling off some of its Australian metallurgical coal assets for AUD 104 million ($76.37m), Kallanish understands.
The undeveloped properties in Queensland’s Bowen Basin will be acquired by Australian company Pembroke Resources, a subsidiary of Denham Capital. The properties hold a combined reserve of 165 million short tons of coal.
