Pandemic restrictions curb Ezz's second-quarter sales, margins squeezed
Ezz Steel’s sales slumped significantly in the second quarter to only 820,000 tonnes as a result of Covid-19-related restrictions, Kallanish notes. Consolidated shipments in the first half of 2020 fell -18% on-year to 2.09 million tonnes. This compared to 3% on-year growth after Q1.
Long product sales bore the brunt of the pandemic impact, slumping -22% in H1 to 1.55mt, after rising 3% in Q1. Flats sales fell -2% in H1 to 537,000t after rising 2% in Q1.…
