Pandemic, oil price slash MENA demand outlook
Worldsteel forecasts Middle Eastern finished steel demand to decline -17.4% on-year in 2020 to 40.2 million tonnes. This comes after a -2.3% drop in 2019 to 48.7mt.
The association delayed the publication of its bi-annual short-range outlook by six weeks due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the global economy.
