Pandemic hits Indian iron ore miner
NMDC’s operations were impacted in March by the Covid-19 pandemic, with output losing around 1 million tonnes and sales 550,000t, the Indian iron ore miner says. This resulted in an estimated INR 220 crore ($28.85 million) loss in revenue and INR 120 crore loss in profit before tax.
NMDC’s iron ore production and sales in the March quarter fell -11% and -15% respectively on-year to 9.47 million tonnes and 8.62mt.
