Pandemic curbs UAE ferrous imports in second quarter
United Arab Emirates imports of ferrous products under HS chapter 72 fell -4% on-year in the first half of 2020 to 3.25 million tonnes, according to newly-published data from the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority monitored by Kallanish.
This represents a reversal from the 5% on-year growth in UAE imports seen in the first quarter, showing the impact on demand of the Covid-19 pandemic.
