Pakistani steel imports fall, scrap grows in February
Pakistani iron and steel imports fell 12% on-year and 22% on-month in February to 220,787 tonnes, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data monitored by Kallanish.
Their value however rose 0.2% on-year to $146.5 million.
Iron and steel scrap imports into Pakistan meanwhile rose 12% on-year in February to 377,750t, but were down 13% versus January. Their value rose 13% versus February 2020 to $148.99m.
