Ukrainian steel output falls 28% in Jan-May
Ukrainian industry association Metallurgprom reported lower national production for January-May in comparison with the same period last year, Kallanish notes. Pig iron output fell by -30% to 8.4 million tonnes, crude steel by -28% to 9.3mt and rolled products by -30% to 8mt. Iron ore production decreased by -6% to 32.8mt, coke by -40% to 4.3mt, tubes and pipes also by -40% to 368,000t and scrap by -4% to 1.2mt.
