Ostrava sells emissions allowances, unions threaten court action

Liberty Ostrava has made CZK 260 million (€10.05m) profit on the sale of 1 million EU emission allowances to sister steelworks Liberty Galati. The proceeds will be used to pay Ostrava’s employees a special bonus to celebrate the company’s 70th Anniversary, with the remainder to be used on future investment projects, the Czech steelmaker says.
