Oman rebar import permit fails to curb trade
The requirement for Omani rebar importers to obtain a licence in order to procure product from abroad has had no effect on the market because Oman is self-sufficient, sources in the Arab Gulf country tell Kallanish.
The regulation was introduced last July (see Kallanish 20 June 2017). The Omani commerce and industry ministry announced last week it has started receiving applications for rebar import permits through its “Bayan” single window system.
