Oil and gas prices to support GCC construction
Gulf Cooperation Council construction sector performance recovered in 2021, back to 2018-19 levels, driven mainly by contracts for gas – Qatar LNG programme – oil pipelines, construction and power projects, combining at $78.6 billion. The was from a total of GCC construction contract awards of $104.1 billion, according to MEED.
Awarded contracts during the fourth quarter of 2021 alone were at $35.5 billion, the third highest quarter since 2011.
