October truck tonnage increases in US
US for-hire truck tonnage rose in October after taking a slight dip in September, Kallanish learns from the American Trucking Association.
The association’s index rose 3.3% in October following a drop of -1.9% in September. Moreover, the index is up 9.9% year on year.
For-hire truck tonnage acts as a bellwether for the industrial economy in general, as 70% of all domestic freight is hauled by truck.
