Italian October stainless scrap prices increase
Italian stainless steel scrap prices are increasing in new contracts, as expected, by some €40/tonne ($47) compared to September on costlier nickel.
Sales volumes, however, remain low and, despite values for finished products rising throughout Europe, demand remains unreliable. One mill tells Kallanish it is “…living from day to day and refuses to pay substantial increases for scrap.”
