OCTG supply constraints threaten US drilling
Low inventories and long lead times continue to support pricing in the US energy tubulars market. With some firms planning to increase drilling ahead of higher prices in the coming months, supply constraints are becoming more of a concern, Kallanish hears from market sources.
“Demand is still strong and it’s difficult to find material,” one Gulf Coast trader tells Kallanish. He puts domestic lead times for OCTG at close to nine weeks.
