Nucor will see quarterly profits fall
Nucor predicts that its fourth-quarter earnings will be just a third of its Q3 earnings and a little more than a tenth of its Q4 2018 earnings, Kallanish learns from a company release.
Nucor expects to earn $0.25-0.30/share in Q4, down from Q3 earnings of $0.90/share ($275 million) and Q4 2018 earnings of $2.07/share ($646.8m).
The company attributes the drop primarily to lower finished steel prices coupled with seasonal factors.
