Nucor sees lower first quarter earnings ahead
Nucor expects its first quarter earnings to slip relative to Q4 but to increase on year, Kallanish understands from a company release.
For the quarter ending 30 March, Nucor expects to report earnings of $1.45-1.50/diluted share, down from $2.07/share in Q4 – or $646.8 million – and up from $1.10/share or $354.2m in Q1 2018. Q1 2018’s earnings included a $21.8m one-time deferred tax charge.
