Nucor refutes incoming steel shortage
The expiration of President Donald Trump’s 232 exemptions on 1 May may cause the domestic steel market to temporarily tighten, but no widespread shortages are expected, according to Nucor.
On a conference call with analysts, ceo John Ferriola said there’s likely to be a drop-off in imports in May due to the lack of clarity surrounding exemptions in the March timeframe, when imports to the US were likely ordered.
