Sheet uptick buoys Nucor profits
Improved sheet pricing pushed Nucor’s earnings further into the black during the second quarter, though the full long-term benefits of contract pricing have yet to be realised, Kallanish reports.
Nucor posted a Q2 profit of $233.8 million on sales of $4.25 billion. In the prior quarter, Nucor realised a profit of $70.8 million on sales of $3.72 billion. Last year, Nucor posted a Q2 profit of $124.8m on sales of $4.36 billion.
