Nucor, others move US plate up $40/st
US plate producers appear to be making a push for higher transaction prices, Kallanish learns from customer letters.
In a representative letter sent by Nucor, the company says it plans to increase base prices on all plate products by a minimum of $40/short ton. The increase is effective for all spot orders slated for the week of 9 April.
Nucor further says that it still plans to collect the full $30/st increase announced 29 February and all applicable extras.…
