Nucor makes new push for higher sheet prices
US steelmaker Nucor has raised its sheet prices by $30/short ton, Kallanish reports.
The increase is largely tied to the rising price of scrap, according to market sources, and echoes the company’s recent plate increase.
Market sources were divided earlier in the week as to whether the next increase would be a true push up from the current hot-rolled level of $630-650/st or a move to consolidate extant gains.
