Nucor lifts US sheet base prices
US steel producer Nucor has thrown its weight behind the push for higher sheet base prices, Kallanish learns from a customer letter.
Effective immediately, Nucor is lifting base prices for all sheet products by $40/short ton.
This move echoes a similar increase announced by several major producers ahead of the 4 July holiday. That increase, sources say, failed to gain any traction.
