Nucor lends weight to plate increase
US steel producer Nucor has followed SSAB Americas leading plate increase, Kallanish learns from a customer letter.
Nucor’s increase echoes SSAB’s increase of $40/short ton on all plate products. The increase is effective for all new orders in the week ended 4 May. SSAB’s increase begins the same week, effective with all slated shipments.
Kallanish currently puts A36 domestic plate at $960-980/st, a plateau it has occupied for several weeks.…
