Nucor, JFE partnering on $270m Mexican galvanized mill
US minimill Nucor and Japan’s JFE Steel are planning to build a $270 million automotive sheet finishing mill in central Mexico, Kallanish learns from a company announcement.
Nucor and JFE will share an equal portion of the 400,000 short ton/year galvanized sheet mill, which is slated to come online in the second half of 2019. Both companies will also contribute an equal amount of galvanized substrate for the mill.
