Nucor increases plate prices by $50/st
US steel producer Nucor is moving plate base prices up by $50/short ton, Kallanish learns from a company announcement.
The increase is effective immediately and covers all carbon, alloy and heat-treated plate products.
“Due to current market dynamics, plate pricing has fallen to unsustainable levels,” Nucor says. “Furthermore, raw material costs have continued to increase. This necessitates a reset in the market.”
