Nucor to increase automotive shipments in 2016
US steel producer Nucor plans to up its shipments to the automotive market next year, Kallanish understands.
At the worldsteel conference on 12 October in Chicago, Ferriola said Nucor’s shipments of automotive sheet and special bar quality (SBQ) material should increase from 1.4 million short tons in 2015 to 2m s.t. in 2016.
He declined to comment on the company’s next planned investment in automotive.
