Nucor hikes plate prices
Nucor is again pushing to increase base pricing of its plate products.
Effective immediately, the US steelmaker is raising its A36 products by about $40/short ton to a minimum base price of $1,725/st, Kallanish understands.
Quench & tempered base prices will increase to $1,925/st.
This latest price increase will stick for now, one Midwest buyer anticipates, but there are market rumours that plate prices will soon peak.
