Nucor expects steady construction demand in second quarter
Nucor expects demand for construction projects to remain strong with associated high mill utilisation rates despite challenges faced by the company due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kallanish reports.
"Backlogs for the second quarter continue to grow," says ceo Leon Topalian in the company's quarterly earnings review call. The continued demand follows record profitability by the company's building systems team in the first quarter, he adds.
