Nucor expects stronger quarterly earnings
US steel producer Nucor expects its third-quarter profits to exceed its hefty Q2 profits due to on-going strength in the steel sector, somewhat offset by a natural gas impairment charge.
Nucor anticipates a profit of $2.35-2.40/share in Q3. The company's Q2 earnings were $2.13/share, or $683.2 million, Kallanish notes.
