Nucor buys Southland Tube for $130m
US steelmaker Nucor has bought another hollow structural sections (HSS) producer for $130 million, Kallanish learns from a company announcement.
Nucor’s acquisition of Southland Tube adds 240,000 short tons/year to the company’s new tubular portfolio. In September, Nucor purchased Independence Tube for $435m. Independence has an annual output of about 600,000 st.
