Novolipetsk Steel increases power generation from off-gases

NLMK’s flagship Novolipetsk Steel plant increased the share of its captive power generated from off-gases, such as blast furnace and coke oven gas, by 4 percentage points on-year in 2016 to 81%. The Lipetsk-based steelworks’ captive power generation capacity is 522MW. Electricity is generated at two units – CHPP and UTETS.
