Construction season, scrap seen lifting northern European rod
Northern European wire rod prices have remained stable again this week amid low demand, sources say. Most participants expect the market to improve with the new construction season.
“There are mixed signals, but order books continue to be empty,” a trader from the Netherlands tells Kallanish.
Domestic transaction prices for drawing-quality wire rod are at €690/tonne ($729/t) ex-works and mesh-grade wire rod is at €710/t, sources say.
