Nordwest Handel improves steel business in 2017
Nordwest Handel, a large German purchasing cooperative for steel and hardware, has increased its steel turnover significantly in the first quarter, Kallanish hears.
The financial value rose by 30% year-on-year to €272 million ($325m), on a volume increase of 13.5%. Nordwest did not specify tonnage but is expected to do so next week upon presentation of annual figures for 2017. In 2016, it handled 1.3 million tonnes for its 130 associated companies.
