NMDC secures iron ore output expansion approval
Indian authorities have approved the production expansion of NMDC’s Kumaraswamy Iron Ore Mines by 3 million tonnes/year to 10m t/y. The effective date of the approval is for 2020-21 and 2021-22.
Separately, the Chattisgarh state government has approved the extension until 2035 of NMDC’s Mining Leases of Deposit 14, Deposit14-NMZ, Deposit-10 and Deposit-5 in the Balidila region. The mining leases had been due to expire on 31 March 2020.
