NLMK taps new ore for steel output expansion

NLMK has begun mining quartzites on the southern bank of the Stoilensky deposit, which will contribute to a 10% on-year increase in iron ore output in 2018 to 38 million tonnes. The launch in 2016 of the pelletizing plant at Stoilensky and steelmaking expansion at NLMK’s Lipetsk steelworks require more quartzites, which are used as feedstock for the beneficiation plant.
