NLMK supplies steel for Russian particle collider construction
NLMK has supplied 380 tonnes of dynamo steel to Dubna-based Joint Institute for Nuclear Research for the construction of the Nuclotron-based Ion Collider (NICA).
The steel will be used to make 186 superconducting electromagnets for the accelerator complex storage ring. This is where heavy ion beams are going to collide at a speed close to the speed of light, according to NLMK.
