NLMK, ArcelorMittal join Nucor in sheet hike
Nucor’s $30/short ton sheet hike has gained the support of fellow minimill NLMK USA and integrated mill ArcelorMittal, and market sources believe this heralds a new true push up for base prices.
One buy-side source says it’s likely that other mills – both mini and integrated – will follow Nucor’s lead, despite rising scrap prices being the main underpinning for the increase.
