Nippon Steel shuts another furnace as losses bite
Japan’s Nippon Steel has announced another planned furnace closure, now its fourth, as it seeks to restructure to boost efficiency and competitiveness. The company says it expects to book significant losses this financial year, after recording further losses in the nine months to December 2019, Kallanish notes.
