Nippon Steel seeks Southeast Asian steelworks
Japan’s largest steelmaker, Nippon Steel, is in talks to buy an integrated steel mill in Southeast Asia, which could include an electric arc furnace, as a source of iron feedstock, Nippon Steel executive vice president Takahiro Mori has told Reuters.
"The discussions are under way to secure iron sources in ASEAN," Mori is quoted as saying. No more details have been reported.
