Nippon Steel plans HRC line at Nagoya Works
Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel plans to build a new hot rolled coil line at its Nagoya Works.
With investment of JPY 270 billion ($2.08 billion), the line will produce ultra-high-strength steel sheet, with a tensile strength of 1.0 GPa or more. Nippon Steel plans to commission the 6 million tonnes/year line in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, when the current production lines will be taken out of service, Kallanish notes.
