Nippon Seisen sells less but profit surges
Japan’s Nippon Seisen has reported revenue of JPY 34.1 billion ($310.5 million) in the fiscal year through 31 March 2021 (FY20), down 2.3% year-on-year. But its net profit rose 30.85% y-o-y to JPY 297.66m, Kallanish notes.
The decline in sales was mainly due to lower stainless steel wire sales in the first half of FY20. However, the firm’s sales quickly recovered in H2, by 30% from H1 to 3,268 tonnes/month.
