Nippon enlists Mike Pompeo to clinch USS deal
MIke Pompeo, the former US Secretary of State under President Donald Trump, will advise Nippon Steel Company as it finalises the acquisition of US Steel, Kallanish reports.
Nippon has received approval from regulatory bodies outside of the US; however, Nippon is still awaiting US regulatory approval. Japan’s largest steelmaker offered US Steel roughly $15 billion in its bid to purchase the company (see Kallanish passim).
