Ningxia Steel to start new blast furnace construction
Ningxia Iron & Steel (Ningxia Steel) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new blast furnace project on 16 September, Kallanish notes.
According to its capacity replacement plan, Ningxia Steel needs to demolish two 600-cubic-metre blast furnaces, eliminating 1.4 million tonnes/year of iron capacity. It will then construct a new 1,580m³ blast furnace with an ironmaking capacity of 1.37m t/y. The commissioning date is set for May 2021.
