Ningde City in China’s Fujian province plans to double the current CNY 300 billion ($45.8 billion) output value of its stainless steel industry by 2025, Kallanish notes from the city’s Economic Development Plan of Sandu'ao Bay Area.

In order to develop the stainless steel industry base, Ningde intends to continue expansion in the field of intensive processing and the layout of the entire industry. The industry has been listed as one of the four dominant industries in the city.

In terms of spatial layout, a “stainless steel city” in Wanwu will be built, led by Tsingtuo Group. This will be surrounded by other stainless steel deep processing zones, including Lidun Industrial Park, Zhayang Industrial Park, and Xinan-Yacheng Stainless Zone.

Tsingtuo has launched several projects in the city, including a 600,000 tonnes/year cold rolling stainless project, a 500,000 t/y seamless stainless steel pipe project, a 2 million t/y medium-thick plate project, and a 1.7m t/y stainless wire rod project.
