Nigeria's Wempco completes wire rod mill commissioning
Nigeria’s Western Metal Products Company (Wempco) has given Danieli the final acceptance certificate for its new 300,000 tonnes/year wire rod mill. This follows completion of hot commissioning last month, Kallanish learns from the Italian technology supplier.
The Lagos-based rod mill is fed by a 60 tonnes/hour pusher type reheating furnace, suitable for heating up to 130mm and 120mm square billets, weighing up to 1,550kg.
