New Zealand seabed iron ore mine project back on

Trans-Tasman Resources has submitted to environmental authorities a new application for its seabed iron ore mining project in New Zealand’s Taranaki. The company’s last application was overwhelmingly rejected, Kallanish notes. The company aims to produce 5 million tonnes/year of saleable iron ore from 50 million t/y of sand lifted from the seabed.
