New US plate price hike appears
US plate producer SSAB Americas is reiterating its $40/short ton base price hike for all plate products, Kallanish learns from a company letter.
The new $40/st increase is additive to the increase announced 8 November and is effective immediately. It covers all as-rolled mill plate; discrete and coiled plate greater than 72 inches wide; and normalised and quench-and-tempered plate.
SSAB notes that its domestic mill lead times are out to January.
