US HRC base prices recover
US sheet prices appear to be heading up, market sources tell Kallanish.
The new base price for hot-rolled coil appears to be crystallising around $930/short ton, says a source at one top-tier mill. That represents an increase of about $30/st for most major producers, he says.
One sheet buyer says he expects the move - spearheaded by one of the major mills - to gain traction with other producers in the short-term.
