New Inner Mongolian stainless steel plant to start in November

Shanghai Yatai Steel Group plans to begin production at its new 1 million tonnes/year stainless steelworks in northern China’s Inner Mongolia next month, Kallanish learns. The CNY 4.8 billion ($760 million) project includes six ferronickel furnaces and a 1.25m-wide billet caster. Construction began in June 2013 and two furnaces have already been completed.
