New import rules threaten Indian automotive production: reports
Indian automotive production is facing disruption if tougher government rules on steel imports are not relaxed, Reuters reports.
India’s steel ministry announced in August stringent import rules for some high-grade steel products that are sourced by carmakers from countries such as Japan and South Korea but not yet manufactured in India. The new rules are set to come into force on 17 February.
