New Hope Group's New Acland coal mine project in Australia is caught in a dispute over illegal mining, Kallanish notes.
The third phase of development is about to be approved by the Queensland government. However, opponents allege the mine has illegally mined AUD 500 million ($346.74m) worth of coal in areas for which the firm had not applied for a licence. New Acland says it rejects the allegations.
