Carpenters new Alabama facility gets approved for aerospace alloy
A nickel-based high-temperature alloy produced at Carpenter Technology Corp’s new facility in Athens, Alabama has been approved by an unnamed European aerospace engine manufacturer. The approved alloy is used in aerospace engine rings.
Multiple qualification approvals of the facility’s products are currently underway and some may take more than 24 months to complete. Operations at the plant began in January 2014.
